POSTAL ADDRESS RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
  1. A Postal address shall not be rented in a fictitious name or for an improper purpose.
  2. The right to the use of a Postal address may only be transferred from one person to another upon the written request of the renter and with the written authority of the Managing Director of Posta Uganda.
  3. A Postal address shall not be rented by more than one person at the same time.
  4. Delivery or mail into a Postal address is in all respects deemed equivalent to personal delivery to the addressee.
  5. Any mail erroneously placed, or which due to an incorrect address is sorted into a Postal address it was not intended for, must be returned to the Post Office without delay endorsed with the words “Not for Postal address Number.” written on the address side of the envelop.
  6. For Postal addresses that have Locks, no lock or key may be replaced by the renter or any other person. Repairs and replacements of locks and keys are the mandate of Posta Uganda at the expense of the renter, and on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by Posta Uganda from time to time. Renters are also not permitted to make additional keys, as these are supplied by Posta Uganda upon payment of the requisite fees.
  7. The duration of the lease period shall be for a period of one year and on the expiration of any rental period Posta Uganda may, at its sole discretion refuse to re-let a Postal address to any renter without assigning any reason for so doing.
  8. Upon completion of one year, and on payment of Postal address rental renewal fees by the renter, Posta Uganda shall renew the lease of a rental Postal address for a further term of 12 months.
  9. During the lease period the renter shall be paying a yearly rental fee; The rental fees shall be due and payable after 12 months. Renewal must be done within 21st after expiry of the rent period.
  10. If for any reason whatsoever, the yearly rental fee shall remain unpaid after 21 days mentioned in 9 above, Posta Uganda reserves the right to terminate the lease and the Postal address shall be repossessed forthwith and consequently allocated without any reference to the renter in default. Notwithstanding the termination of the lease, Posta Uganda shall have the right to demand for the full payment of the yearly rentals in arrears.
  11. Posta Uganda shall have the right to revise the yearly rental fee as it deems fit.
  12. The Postal address remains the property of Posta Uganda rentable to individuals, companies, Organizations, or any other Party and therefore Posta Uganda reserves the right to re-allocate, withdraw and /or change any Postal address number, without notice to the renter as and when the need arises.
  13. The lease of the Postal address (eAddress or Physical) shall terminate by either party giving 30 days’ notice for any reason whatsoever or none, provided that; Where the termination is at the instance of the renter, lease shall terminate forthwith. However, the renter shall not be entitled to a refund for the remaining period of the lease.
  14. Posta Uganda has the right to terminate the use of a Postal address if any of the above conditions are not complied with by the user, or if in its opinion, the Postal address is being used for an improper or unlawful purpose.
  15. Posta Uganda reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions.
